We settled in to this beautiful spot in Marathon for appetizers and drinks to relax after a day of kayaking. The sun and reflection was very bright but would soon turn to the golds, pinks, lavender of sunset over the Keys.
Daily Post Challenge – Security
My shepherd Bailey is truly my security system when my husband is not home.
She such a sweetheart who sticks close by my side. She is always on alert and her bark is a great deterrent for anyone passing our home.
She is my four legged best friend…. A true, loyal pup to our family.
We were so fortunate to have a beautiful day in Lahaina with our close friends. The girls all kayaked and had mani and pedis and then caught up with the guys for lunch.
I caught this shot as we were walking thru the town. The backlit tree with the shimmering ocean in the afternoon was breathtaking. I noticed the person enjoying their afternoon beneath the shade of the tree.
Daily Post Theme: Wish
As we get older, thoughts of a beautiful place to retirement linger in our minds. These dreams for me always include water… be it lake front, bayside or coastal.
A wish for our future.
This week’s challenge brought me to a current project I am working on for our backyard this summer. I am reusing old deck board my husband set aside for me when he took on redoing our back deck and turning it into a fun sign. We chose some of our favorite vacation destinations and places that we lived and am painting each on a board with how far they are from our home. I am enjoying using the repurposed wood, which brings a worn quality to the signage that I like.

WordPress Challenge- Path
I made a collage of some of the paths I have taken over this past year. A path can be like an old friend or a new adventure not knowing what you will find at each turn.
I also thought about the paths we take in life like moving, the loss of a parent, trying a new career. These journeys make you realize how important your relationships are in life. You may be walking through it alone at times, but to share it with a friend or family member somehow makes it a little less intimidating or more exciting depending on the path you’re taking.
Wishing you many paths to explore this year! “Happy Trails”
