A Blank Canvas

Daily Post Challenge – Optimistic
This challenge reminded me I had a bag of new goodies for my drawing/painting class. The class gives you supplies but they are acrylic and the brushes have been used and overused, so I decided to purchase my own. Also, my art instructor paints in oils herself and I wanted to give it a try while in her class.

I am entering into this with an optimistic attitude to enjoy painting in a new medium!

It’s That Time of Year

DSC_0049Theme – Glass

I love the whole process of the Christmas tree, from selecting the perfect for the spot in your home to turning up the holiday music and decorating it.  Beautiful glass ornaments collected and homemade ones from your children growing up make for a perfect combination for our family.

I look forward to passing the special ornaments on to my two girls when they have their own homes to start their family tree tradition.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays,

Kim

Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “(Extra)ordinary.”

My husband and I recently ventured out a local farm to go apple picking. I absolutely love to walk in the orchards as we collect different varieties of apples. On our way out, we grab some coffee and homemade apple cinnamon doughnuts. It’s a great way to start out the weekend before heading off to do our usual Saturday chores.

The bonus is coming home with all the gorgeous fresh apples !

My Happy Place

Thank you PhotoFriday voters for choosing this shot as one of the Noteworthy Top 6!

The Florida Keys encompass the elements that bring me to that happy place. When you cross over the first bridge where you can see the Florida Bay on the west and the Atlantic Ocean on the east, a true attitude change happens with the latitude!

Switching to Keys time, no hurry, no worries, great fresh seafood and a relaxing drink await. Rent a boat or jetski and have a day of fun adventures or just grab a book or a camera and take in the tropical breeze and gorgeous colors.

Happiness is to wake up before the sunrise with camera in hand and again to capture that last color in the sky at dusk. Anything in between is just bonus.

As they say, it’s all about location or is it the journey… in the Florida Keys, it is both.
