This photo resonates with my state of mind for many reasons…
In my life, I am trying to find my way creatively. Struggling to find that inspiration that would make me excited to start each day with my work. I see the beauty, but need direction.
As an empty nester, and fairly new to this area, I find it so very hard to find those friendships and social life I was so happy with in California and Florida. I see friends on social media participating in the fun things together in life and I am struggling to find that where I am planted.
I love my new home and where my husband and I live- Although I find myself, like this photo, in a stormy coastal scene with waves to conquer. The need to navigate through the blustery days to find brighter ones in the future.
To bloom where I am planted.
This week, let your inner world and the outside one converge in a photo
Add lack of work and we are in the same boat…..
Yes not easy, but a chance to try new and creative things.
I’m in the same boat you are Kim. Although we’ve been empty nesters now for several years, my husband is recently retired and we’ve moved back into a house we’ve been gone from for six years and the built-in military social life that I’m used to immediately being drawn into, is no longer the main focus of our lives. We have a son here, and friends, but logistically getting from one point to another in DC takes some time and I’m having to adjust to that. We’re on opposite sides of the country but I think I understand your state of mind!
It’s good to know others can relate to creating a new season of life. I look forward to what is before me but there are days I feel that I am not getting very far!

Maybe you aren’t supposed to dodge the waves. Sometimes, you just have to ride them and see where they take you.
Very good point. Sometimes we are fighting something that we need to be open too! Thanks for the wisdom.

Awe hugs. I love the sentence you wrote about struggling to find the creative inspiration to make you want to get up and create everyday. You know how scattered I am with projects and I think it’s because I’m looking for that one true creative project too. I’m sure there are so many people that can relate to your current situation.
Thanks my friend. We will get there someday!
